SUPPLY  AND  INSTALLATION  OF  SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC  AND  WIND TURBINE  SYSTEMS

Solar PV Products

Apollo Renewables are not tied to a particular manufacturer or supplier, therefore we are always able to offer the most suitable product for the project at the most competitive price.  However we do always use established products that have a good track-record within the industry. The main items of equipment included within a solar PV system are detailed below:

Photovoltaic modules

There are many different types  and manufacturers of photovoltaic module available, however all basically provide the same function of generating electrical energy during daylight. Modules are made up of a number of solar cells that are connected together and typically encapsulated between a suitable backing sheet and a toughened glass front cover.

All the modules we supply and install are Microgeneration Certification Scheme accredited and conform with the relevant IEC standards (IEC61215 for crystalline modules or IEC61646 for thin film modules). Modules also come with a power output warranty for 25 years. Links to datasheets of just some of the modules we offer are below:

Sharp NU-180E1 180Wp / NU-185E1 185Wp monocrystalline module

Sharp ND-170E1 170Wp polycrystalline module

Sharp ND-220E1 220Wp polycrystalline module

Romag Powerglaz SMT 6(60)P 205Wp - 235p module

Romag Powerglaz SMT 6(54)P 190Wp - 210p module

Romag Powerglaz SMT 6(48)P 160Wp - 185Wp module

Mitsubishi PV-TD185MF5 185Wp polycrystalline module

Kyocera KD135 135Wp polycrystalline module

Sanyo HIT 215Wp hybrid module

We can also provide modules from many other manufacturers, please ask if you have a preference.

Grid connect inverters

An inverter converts the DC electricity from the solar PV modules into grid quality AC electricity. In most cases the selection of an inverter (or inverters for mid to larger systems) in the UK is limited to those type tested and approved for use within the UK (i.e. passed the tests within Engineering Recommendation G83/1).

The inverters we typically use are those manufacturer by the companies Fronius (shown above) and SMA. Click on the link below to see relant inverter datasheet:

Mounting systems

Solar PV systems can either be mounted above existing roof tiles, integrated using standard modules or frameless modules, integrated using solar roof tiles, installed on flat roofs or on freestanding structures. See the PV mounting options page on this website for further information, or contact us to discuss your project and the mounting option that would be best for you.

Visual displays

Visual displays come in two main types. Large displays are suitable for installations such as for schools, local authorities and businesses. The display shown below is 400mm x 170mm, with text 20mm high. Other designs of artwork and sizes are also available.

Smaller displays are more suitable for domestic customers. Click on the link below for more information.

System monitoring

The inverters we use are able to offer varying levels of system monitoring.  For example inverter values (such as power, voltage, current, energy generated, etc) can be easily recorded and displayed on a computer. More complex systems can also include remote access to data from the data logger. Apollo Renewables can also offer sensors to measure values such as solar radiation, temperature and wind speed. Shown below is a photo of the Fronius wind speed and solar radiation sensors.
